Developing my poster part 5
The final main element of my poster has been added in the form of my main image. This image has been filtered to make it look more menacing, and it also works to naturally link the image to the rest of the poster. The brick wall also works as a background due to it also being a part of a alleyway location in the trailer, and it makes the skull mask stand out more boldly.
Developing my Poster part 4
I have added more of the typical features onto my base poster, such as the studio logos, which are the ones featured in my trailer in order to continue synergy between the tasks. I have also added the age rating for this film, which i have set as "R", which is the standard rating for gory horror films.
Developing my Poster part 3
I have decided to make some changes to the layout of my page, the title of the movie has been moved down as the main image will encompass the majority of the upper half of the page, and the poster has been given its tagline, which mentions famous horror movies made by Warner Bros in order to make a potential audience see my movie as having a pedigree.
Developing my poster part 2
The next stage of my poster development, i have added more features that make the poster more similar in structure to my style models. These include the studio's prior horror movies they have created, and in this instance i chose The Exorcist and The Shining, which are two of the most recognisable horror classics, so any potential viewer would know of the studio's pedigree with the horror genre. I also included the credits for the movie at the bottom of the poster, which is a common feature of posters and allows a viewer to look at who is acting in the movie, as well as showing who made the movie.

Developing my poster part 1
I have begun my movie poster by adding the title of the film first, and i have done this first as it is probably the most eye catching part of the poster other than the main image, and as my main image does not need to be added until the end.

Movie Poster Ideas: The Shot
I am planning to have one of two shots for my poster, both of which feature the main villain. The first of which will be a shot of the villains mask in the centre with blood dripping on it. This is symbolic of the type of slasher film that is being made, with a common technique of the masked and silent villain apparent here. The second shot i have planned is one of the villain at a low angle holding his miniature chainsaw with blood on, set in the backdrop of a dark alleyway.

Movie Poster Ideas: Text
When adding text to my poster, i will add colours that stand out well from the black background. I will use red text for my title as it keeps a sense of continuity with the film itself, as the colour there is also red, as it will also be on my magazine. A continued use of the same fonts and colours makes a film more recognisable and this is what i am doing with the font/colours. The red text is also used often in horror movie posters as red is a colour that symbolises blood and danger, hence why slasher films use this often, due to their abundance of blood and gore.
Movie Poster Ideas: Black background
For the task of creating a movie poster, i am looking at representing the film's dark tone on the poster, with a black background likely to be used, as this suits the tone of the film well. The black background also works to serve other text on the poster and the main image, which will pull more of the viewers attention than t would do with a distracting background. Examples of this being used in movie posters include:
The Silence of the Lambs
Scream 4
